This locally owned casual, yet upscale dining venue is seeking a dynamic Restaurant General Manager to lead this exciting establishment that offers something for everyone!

We’re looking for a high caliber, detail oriented, and inspiring leader to manage and control every aspect of delivering a one-of-a-kind guest experience. We need a Restaurant General Manager that possesses a proven successful track record of leading a high volume, upscale, guest focused establishment.

Topmost responsibilities of this position include having a flair for creating a unique guest experience, attention to every detail, and motivating and coaching a talented staff to deliver an outstanding experience to each guest while upholding rigid standards in a high-volume atmosphere. Responsibilities also include ensuring strong profitability, delivering sound operations, and maintaining a clean, safe environment. The ideal candidate has high-volume restaurant experience, proficiency in a sports themed environment, demonstrates a desire to continue growing both professionally and personally, and is eager to lead by example. This is an outstanding opportunity for the right candidate to experience professional growth with a well-respected, rapidly expanding exciting new concept.

Requirements Ideal candidate must have the following:

  • 5 years of General Management experience in a high volume full-service, structured dining establishment.
  • Ability to deliver a superior, one-of-a-kind guest experience an absolute must!
  • Strong knowledge of front and back of house operations including food, beverages, staff supervision, inventory, food safety, service techniques, and guest interaction.
  • Strong understanding of cost and labor systems that lead to restaurant profitability.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods.
  • Familiar with sporting events and accompanying promotions.
  • Proven success record in building sales.
  • Training, coaching, and leadership skills.
  • A 4-year college degree is highly desirable, but not required.

Salary Range and Benefits

  • Competitive Salary (ranging from $65k – $90k depending on experience)

An outstanding opportunity to lead a regional food and beverage program, we are seeking an experienced and talented Restaurant General Manager candidate to operate this historic landmark located in the beautiful Santa Maria Valley of California. Nestled between Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo, this well established dining spot was named one of the West’s best barbecue restaurants, renowned for its Santa Maria Style cuisine…a regional fare rooted in native ingredients and methods that were first popularized by 19th century rancheros. The menu is inspired by the local flavors of the Santa Maria Valley, where famous barbecue, fresh produce and world-class wines are woven into the fabric of the community. It was also awarded Open Table’s Diners Choice Award for 2015.

This position offers stability, permanence and opportunities that are rare among independent restaurants!

Topmost responsibilities of this position include motivating and coaching a talented staff to deliver an outstanding experience to our guests while upholding top-notch standards in food and beverage quality. Responsibilities also include other management tasks to ensure profitability and sound operations, such as quality staffing, inventory control and maintaining a clean, safe environment. The ideal candidate has high-volume, upscale casual restaurant experience, a deep knowledge and appreciation of wine (especially local) and is eager to set a high standard for others to emulate.

Requirements Ideal candidate must have the following:

  • 2 years + full service restaurant General Management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred / or comparable experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding floor presence, ability to give a face/personality to the establishment
  • Exemplary marketing savvy/skills focused on an appreciation for the restaurant’s history
  • Experience in a standards-oriented establishment
  • Passion for developing and mentoring a team
  • Proficiency with scheduling, payroll, accounting, progressive discipline, ordering and receiving
  • Strong honesty, integrity and guest-oriented philosophy

Salary Range and Benefits

  • Starting salary range is $65k to $80k depending upon experience

Opportunities are available in all of Oregon (7 locations in Portland!), north central California (Redding, Petaluma, more), north/east of Los Angeles marketplace (Burbank, Ranch Cucamonga, Palmdale, Glendale, Laverne, Chico, Yuba City, Valencia, Canyon Country, more). The Restaurant Manager provides leadership and assistance to the General Manager to ensure that all team members are guest-focused, team-focused, and community-connected. The Restaurant Manager exercises knowledge of restaurant operations, manages staff resources, provides counsel, develops and coaches team members and helps to build sales and profits while maintaining operating standards.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manages the human resource function in the restaurant ensuring recruitment, selection, orientation, training, scheduling and performance management functions meet or exceed company specified criteria.
  • Ensures the daily execution of the Mission Statement and Core Values.
  • Complies with company policies, practices and procedures and communicates all changes to team members.
  • Involved in local store marketing efforts.
  • Understands the Profit and Loss Statement and helps create action plans for opportunity areas.
  • Ensures overall food quality and handling, safety, security, service and cleanliness standards are met.

Requirements Ideal candidate must have the following:

  • A minimum of 2 years restaurant or retail management experience (experience managing a restaurant with a full bar is preferred)
  • Be highly motivated, self-directed, and results driven with strong planning, organizing and follow-up skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated track record of workplace achievement in the selection, coaching and development of employees
  • Proven ability to drive employee satisfaction/retention, guest satisfaction through customer-based metrics improvement and financial performance
  • Strong decision making and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong desire to develop their team and actively continue their own development
  • A proven track record of successfully managing multiple priorities in a fast paced work environment
