Requirements

  • 3-5 years of General Management experience in a high-volume full-service dining establishment.

We’re seeking an experienced and talented Director of Food and Beverage candidate to operate this high volume, multi-unit resort food and beverage program. Over 8 food and beverage outlets and kitchens spread over the multiple ski areas of the resort. Banquets, concerts, special affairs, corporate events, room service, you name it Schweitzer Mountain Resort delivers at a high level of expertise. If you possess an innate desire to create an experience of a lifetime for your guests, this is the resort for you.

Requirements

The ideal candidate must have the following to be considered:

  • College Degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management or related field of study or minimum of ten years of food and beverage management in an upscale setting.
  • Strong experience in winter (snowbound!) environment, detailed in logistics and organization across a wide array of revenue outlets spread across mountainous terrain.
  • Ability and experienced in the daily management of a food and beverage staff consisting of 100+ staff members across 8+ outlets and programs.
  • Experienced in the development and control of the overall Food and Beverage operations (both revenue and expense) for all guests including design and scripting of all concept menus, service enhancements, special events, and remote dining facilities.
  • Proficient communication skills, written and verbal to both subordinates and superiors.
  • Experienced in extreme seasonal business cycles, with startup and teardown several times annually.
  • Proficiency with financial statements, scheduling, payroll, accounting and progressive discipline.
  • Strong honesty, integrity and guest-oriented philosophy.
  • Comes from a culture of collaboration and team building, Respect for all.

  • Salary Package $92k – $105k (starting, based on experience level)

Privately owned and operated, you will deal directly with the owner to establish and achieve your operating goals. The connections and the appetite for these events in both large corporate formats and in smaller private parties already exists.   • Basic understanding of accounting, contracts, and cash handling
  • Can communicate with ownership in competently about event costs and profitability
  • Experience building a team of on-call employees that are reliable, personable and fun

  • Can trouble-shoot and set-up AV equipment
